Our Story

It all began with endless conversations—over steaming cups of coffee, late-night phone calls, and quiet moments stolen between classes and meetings.

We were four friends and colleagues working our butts off in the world of academia, dedicating ourselves to training systemic therapists in socially just ways. We poured our hearts into teaching, working on weaving anti-oppressive practices into every lesson and every policy we created.

But the deeper we delved, the more we saw how deeply oppressive systems were ingrained in everything around us—the very institutions we aimed to transform, the clinical landscapes awaiting our students, even the foundations of therapy itself.

It felt like we were swimming upstream in a river that only grew swifter the harder we pushed against it. No matter how much progress we made, the larger systems loomed, pulling us back, reminding us of their pervasive hold. It was both frustrating and disheartening. How do you ignite change when the very ground beneath you resists every step?

Alongside of this, we saw that our peers, other clinicians in the field, were grappling with the weight of their work, often shouldering it in isolation.

Incredible, meaningful work was happening in silos, hidden away without the light of community to nourish it. We understood that loneliness. Without a community, staying energized and hopeful feels like trying to keep a candle lit in a storm.

So we asked ourselves: What if we created the very space we were searching for?

A place where therapists, educators, and advocates could come together—not just to learn, but to truly connect. A haven where every offering is steeped in shared values of justice, equity, and liberation, eliminating the need to dig through countless options to find something that matters.

That's why we started Lovewell.

Lovewell is more than a platform; it's a community, a movement. It's a home for systemic thinkers and changemakers—a place where brilliance isn't just welcomed but celebrated without barriers.

We envisioned a space that lifts each member up, where collaboration replaces competition, and where isolation gives way to solidarity.

This is deeply personal for us. Lovewell is about transforming the world—not only for therapists and clients but for the very systems we navigate daily. It's about shedding the weight of solitude in this critical work and finding strength in unity. It's about discovering your people and realizing that together, our impact is boundless compared to what we could achieve alone.

We're so glad you're here.

Welcome to Lovewell—your community, your space, your movement. Let's build something extraordinary together.
